Latest Updates from Our Project:

A New Adventure!!!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Dec 15, 2018 at 12:07:28 AM

After last month's release of The Chaos Triads, the team didn't stop working on new adventures for The Fantasy Trip. As mentioned, we have multiple new PDF adventures in the works, and we're now able to announce that the second adventure -- The Curse of Katiki-Mu written by Robert Saint John -- is available at Warehouse 23!

"To end a terrible curse, your adventurers must travel to a lost land and return a stolen statuette. But the tribe of Katiki-Mu has no love for outsiders, and this mission may bring the party to doom at the hands of the mighty Moatiki. With only one way into and out of danger, can these heroes hope to break The Curse of Katiki-Mu"

These PDF adventures are only one of the ways in which we plan to continue support of The Fantasy Trip beyond this Kickstarter project. In addition to the adventures (and more are on the way!), Steve, Guy, and I have been discussing the next TFT Kickstarter campaign, and we're moving closer to our final decision on the project.

We're pretty sure that we know exactly what our next crowdfunding campaign for The Fantasy Trip is going to be, but in the interest of making sure that we're creating what you want, please let us know which of these ideas you would like to see us carry forward to completion.

  • Cards. Lots of cards. Characters. Options. Spells. Treasures. Monsters. Encounters.
  • Monster Book. A companion to In the Labyrinth, loaded with monsters for use in your campaigns.
  • Playmats. New adventure and skirmish locations, designed to stand-alone or, maybe, geomorph with each other to create larger battlefields.
  • Adventures. Because you can never have enough adventures.

We're about 99% certain which TFT project we're taking to Kickstarter next, but your feedback here will help us with planning for support in 2019 . . . and hopefully beyond!

Thanks!

Melee and Wizard Samples!!!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Dec 14, 2018 at 12:38:21 AM

This week, Sabrina reviewed the production samples of the Melee and Wizard game: Approved! That means another key part of the project is moving toward final assembly and is on track to go onto the ship next month. So far, we see no reason that the project won't leave the factory before Chinese New Year.

Companion Update

Ben was working away at the Companion again yesterday, cleaning up the layout and inserting the appropriate artwork into the pages. We will have to assign more artwork to complete the book, and there are still a few sections that need new introductory text, so we're not quite ready yet. We will see what we can do about sharing the not-quite-done PDF with all of you before our team heads out for the holiday break.

If all proceeds as expected, we will print the Companion books in January/February, and deliver the printed books to the fulfillment warehouse the end of February where they will join the rest of the project for final shipment.

Ogre Battlefields and Pocket Box Games

Two last bits of info that may appeal to those of you who played The Fantasy Trip back when the games were new.

  • Ogre Battlefields, the latest Ogre project on Kickstarter, is closing in on the $80,000 stretch goal and continues to grow beyond our original plans. (More counters. More maps. More fun!) If you're an Ogre fan, check this out today!
  • Pocket Box games. Our planned January Kickstarter campaign to bring back several classic titles continues to fall into place. The project page is almost completed, we have a new website for the Pocket Box games in the works, and yesterday we shared an update on the factory progress in this post at BoardGameGeek. This is gonna be a blast!

Player Folio, Melee & Wizard Character Pads, and Fighter Cards
over 5 years ago – Thu, Dec 06, 2018 at 11:16:56 PM

We continue to review factory samples; we're now waiting on the Melee and Wizard production samples to arrive and, best of all, everything is still on schedule!

This morning, while taking a look at the prototype Bullet Dice and shooting a few video clips (which we've shared in an Ogre Battlefields update, for those of you who want to see these new dice), the Legacy Edition box was close by . . . so here are some pics of a few of the game's components!

Player Folio

This was unlocked during the BackerKit stage of the project and gives you a place to store your character sheets, maps, campaign notes, and other assorted papers that may prove useful when playing The Fantasy Trip.

Write your name on the "plate" and show everyone these are your notes.

Melee & Wizard Character Pads

These 50-sheet pads included inside the Legacy Edition box are for those days when you want to sit down, create a few characters, and stage a bit of a skirmish.

Fighter Cards

The last component to look at today, these cards were also unlocked during BackerKit and each one is dry erase ready; you don't wanna take the time to create a fighter for a duel? Here are ready-to-go fighters who are itching to slay!

Death Test, a closer look.
over 5 years ago – Thu, Nov 29, 2018 at 08:38:17 PM

As you know, thanks to your support, the Legacy Edition includes the Death Test and Death Test 2 adventures. The $55,000 and $92,500 stretch goals added the two adventures to the Legacy Edition box, while the $185,000 and $192,500 stretch goals added color covers to the two adventures. And then, thanks to all of your support, you unlocked the $240,000 stretch goal to create a box holding the Death Test and Death Test 2 adventures and counters.

For those of you who want an early look at the Death Test results of your support, here are some snapshots of the completed Death Test boxed set. As you know, this box is packed inside the Legacy Edition box and will be offered separately to distributors and retailers; the two adventures are a great companion to the Melee and Wizard boxes.

Enjoy the pics, gang! We'll be back soon with more news on the project and upcoming The Fantasy Trip adventures and expansions.

Important Scheduling Update and the Warehouse 23 Holiday Sale
over 5 years ago – Wed, Nov 28, 2018 at 12:39:47 AM

Yesterday, in the Massachusetts GPI office, David and I reviewed The Fantasy Trip project as well as the upcoming Pocket Box campaign. The big news to come out of the day? We're zeroing in on a project ship date and, at the moment, expect to see the completed games in the U.S. fulfillment warehouse by late February. That puts The Fantasy Trip into the hands of U.S. backers in March and international backers in late March or April, meaning that everything is proceeding wonderfully.

All of this is thanks to your support, the hard work of the office team, and the way in which our partners at GPI have approached and managed the production process. For that, we must say: Thank you, everyone! Thousands of us -- backers, staff, as well as everyone at the factory -- have come together to make the return of The Fantasy Trip an event that we will never forget.

Warehouse 23 Holiday Sale

The holidays are here, and with them, the Warehouse 23 Holiday Sale! We ask that each of you take a few moments to review the sale; we're sure your friends and family need gifts, and what's better than giving games for the holidays?
