More Tooling Samples Approved!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 13, 2018 at 12:10:59 AM

Today was a big day at the office: Another wave of factory tooling samples arrived! Sabrina spent the day reviewing all of the samples and providing the factory with feedback; there are minor fixes to make here and there, but the project checks out and is approved to move into manufacturing.

Now the factory starts the work of making thousands of copies of the game!

Gamehole Con and Custom Octopus Miniatures
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Nov 12, 2018 at 12:07:57 AM

Steve ran the special session last night for three of our generous supporters who pledged to be a part of the Gamehole Con event, and the dungeon quickly turned into a bloodbath as three players set out to escape the lair. Twelve unsuspecting adventurers were teleported into the dungeon and given one objective: Escape! Unfortunately, the door would only open once six of the figures were down . . . you know what happened next.

Slaughter!

The game went very well, with the miniatures maneuvering their way to the dungeon, each side trying to control the situation and take advantage of the dungeon's chokepoints. Ultimately, one side was victorious with only moments left on the clock, and the bodies were certainly looted while the winners fled the dungeon.

Octopus Miniatures

While they didn't make an appearance in the game, we were given a chance to surprise Steve with a trio of custom octopus miniatures. He knew that we had the awesome figures in the works, but he didn't get a chance to see the finished work until last night's event.

Sculpted and 3-D printed by Tom Tullis of Fat Dragon Games, these three were then painted by Ben Williams, and the minis are now a part of Steve's collection. I fully expect that he will want to use these for a few upcoming TFT events, so don't be shocked at all if you see the octopi strike out and seek to annihilate a group of player characters in a future session.

Thank you, Tom, for taking the time to create these miniatures! If you're at all interested in what else Tom makes, be sure to visit the Fat Dragon Games website. And whatever you do, do not miss the GM Screen of Doom! I need one of those in my collection.

New Pocket Box Sample and The Fantasy Trip at Gamehole Con
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Nov 09, 2018 at 01:09:39 AM

The factory has adjusted and improved the Pocket Box tooling, and our Austin team is reviewing the results and sending the factory feedback. We're not quite at the finish line, but we're much closer than we were last week! It's looking incredible!

The texture is now in place and you can see how the label will look.

Gamehole Con

Steve and I are at Gamehole Con this weekend, running different games, and I just wrapped up a TFT session for four players. I was missing a few player handouts (we're fixing that issue before tomorrow's event), but things went well, and everyone had a great time smashing skeletons . . . and other members of the party. The game ended when one player character collected all of the treasure and managed to fight his way to the dungeon exit. Lots of adventurers died in today's session (I lost track of the number of PC deaths), as did several spiders and skeletons.

Pocket Box Sample
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Nov 02, 2018 at 02:32:40 AM

The factory has shipped the first test shot of the new Pocket Box design and, we're happy to report that it's close to complete! We have some minor tweaks to make to the tooling, but in the interest of keeping you informed, here are a few pics alongside an original Awful Green Things Pocket Box game. (We no longer offer Awful Green Things in the plastic box, but the game is still available in case you've lost your copy and want a replacement.)

As you can see, the new Pocket Box is deeper and can hold more than the original box.

As you can see in the photos, the new Pocket Box is deeper than the original. We chose to increase the depth by .5-inches so that the box is more flexible for future projects (we can pack more inside this design than we could the original).

We designed the sticker area on the front and back of the box so that older sticker art (from the original Pocket Box games) will work on this new box. Why? Because we're slowly taking steps to build a Kickstarter project with one goal: Publish reproductions of several of the titles that were released in this format back in the eighties.

PDF Adventures

Progress continues on the new adventures for The Fantasy Trip, and we still expect to offer the first adventure for sale on Warehouse 23 later this month. You'll want to set aside five bucks for the first adventure; we'll be sure to post an announcement here when the first PDF adventure is ready.

The Last 7 Days... and a PDF update!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Oct 25, 2018 at 10:31:29 PM

The Fantasy Trip PDF

As you know, we uploaded The Fantasy Trip files to the factory a few weeks ago, and have been working to get the PDF files into their final form. For those that have a Warehouse23 account, the updated PDF is currently being distributed to your downloads page. Tomorrow we will run a second script to send the files out to those without accounts, so keep your eyes open. If by October 29th you haven't received your PDF, please reach out to [email protected]

We may have tucked some extras in there, so you'll have to download it to find out!

*Note: For those that added PDF files in Backerkit via add-on or pre-order, your PDF files will be delivered shortly after we process credit card payments.

7 days remain...

That's right, folks. Everything is spinning down in BackerKit. What does this mean for you? This means that come Monday October 29th, we will be pressing the lock order button, and charging credit cards on file. In addition to locking down BackerKit orders, the window for pre-orders will be closing as well. This is likely your last chance to get everything you want at our Kickstarter prices. If you were on the fence, now is the time.

We will do our best to address any concerns as we come down to the final days, but we are heading into the weekend so responses may be delayed.

Thanks!
