Latest Updates from Our Project:

PDFs, Round Two!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Sep 26, 2018 at 12:51:10 AM

We have updated the zip file to include the second round of PDFs for those of you who backed the project at $25 or higher and completed your Kickstarter survey as requested. If you have still not received your PDFs please contact [email protected] and we'll sort you out.

In the second round of PDFs, you will find a folder marked "SECOND WAVE 9/25/18" containing:

GM Screen - This will be a four-panel, two-sided, landscape screen when printed at the factory.

In the Labyrinth - this contains the book only, not the cover

Megahex sheets - only one-sided, in this wave.

Please note that these are all low-resolution PDFs and are not suitable for printing. We will continue to update the zip package over the next few weeks, adding more materials as they are completed. We will notify you when the "finished!" package is posted. We recommend holding off on printing any of the materials until we release the high-resolution, completed PDF collection.

Reporting Errors

If you notice an error, please report the mistake here: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=2208253#post2208253

The deadline for reporting errors on the second wave of material is Monday, October 1 at noon (Austin time). After that time, we will finish the correction process and prepare the files to go to the factory. We need to submit these items to the factory on Thursday, October 4, to stick to the schedule and be in a position to ship the finished games in March.

We will post an update when the next wave of PDF materials are ready and added to the zip collection.

Thanks for the assist, gang, and we hope that you enjoy this second round of PDFs.

Two New BackerKit Goals!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Sep 24, 2018 at 11:36:58 PM

Both the 90% of surveys complete and $125,000 in BackerKit funding goals are now unlocked, adding four more pre-generated character cards and four more blank cards to the Legacy Edition box. That puts the totals for the Dry Erase Character Card Pack at:

  • 16 pre-generated character cards
  • 8 blank character cards

We're now down to one more week to unlock two new BackerKit goals:

  • If at least 95% of project supporters complete their BackerKit survey by October 1, we will add four more character cards to the Legacy Edition box.
  • If we raise $160,000 in BackerKit before October 1, we will add The Fantasy Trip Pocket Folder (Style C) to the Legacy Edition box.

And before you ask, the answer is: Yes! That Pocket Folder is a new design and not merely a duplicate of the Style A or Style B folders that were unlocked during the Kickstarter stage of funding.

October 1 is now one week away, so it's time that we get out there and tell the world: "Preorder today!" The more new preorders that we see for The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition over the next week, the greater the chance that we unlock that $160,000 BackerKit goal and add more to every first printing Legacy Edition box.

If you need the link, preorders are open right here

Own A Liz Danforth Original
over 5 years ago – Sun, Sep 23, 2018 at 11:51:17 PM

Liz Danforth is selling the originals of the counters and illustrations she did for The Fantasy Trip. I’ve got one, and they look great – ink on art paper with lots of border for framing. If you are interested, contact her at [email protected]. Expect to pay around $40-75 for a smaller item, up to several hundred for the larger pieces. The sooner the better, because she’s going to a couple of conventions soon and will be selling art there. So move fast and get the ones you want!

"Limited" and Size Comparison
over 5 years ago – Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 11:27:02 PM

Recently, some of you noticed that the items listed in the BackerKit survey are showing as "limited." What does this mean? As we prepare to send the files to print, one step is to place the final order with the factory so that they can order the raw materials needed to produce the game.

So that we don't accidentally over-promise on the add-on items, we've had to make final decisions on production quantities, and it is that decision that has added the "limited" tag to items. We're producing enough to cover what is included in the rewards, but at this time, the add-on quantities are locked, and it is possible that we will run out of an item or two before the BackerKit surveys are locked.

If there are any add-ons that you want, today is the day to update your survey as necessary. And for those of you who have not yet completed your survey, please handle that this weekend. And besides, if we can hit 90% of surveys complete by October 1, we get to pack even more into the Legacy Edition box.

Size Comparison

As we review the blank mock-up (shared yesterday), one of the questions asked was: "How big is the game?" It can be difficult to accurately comprehend the size of a 10.5" x 13.5" x 5" box, so we went to Twitter with these pics that show the blank copy of The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition next to the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game

How big is the game? We'll let the pics speak for themselves.

Blank Mock-Up Components
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 20, 2018 at 10:20:06 PM

Yesterday, our partners at GPI sent over this snapshot of some of the first blank mock-up bits for the Legacy Edition box. This is not a complete package; some of the missing parts include Melee, Wizard, Death Test, all of which will be packed inside each Legacy Edition box.

This photo reveals a detail that we've not yet discussed:

  • In the Legacy Edition's first printing, the megahexes will be packed inside a custom storage box. And yes, anyone adding extras of the megahexes to their BackerKit rewards will get the storage box along with the pre-punched megehexes. (The megahexes will be bagged in later printings.)

The components shown in this photo are for our team to review the sizes and weights of different parts of the game. This also helps when we're finalizing the artwork for boxes, the GM screen (not shown), and other items that are not a standard part of our other games.

We don't usually share this stage, but one of the things we want to do with this Kickstarter project is keep you updated on the project's status. This may seem like a minor step between now and the game landing on your doorstep, but it's a important part of getting everything right.

In other news, please don't forget that we need all feedback on the first wave of PDFs no later than Monday. If you have spotted an error, please post it at: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=159606

Thanks!
