Latest Updates from Our Project:

Gen Con, News, and (ta da!) TFT Helper
over 4 years ago – Thu, Aug 08, 2019 at 02:36:31 AM

We’re back from Gen Con, where I ran a special game for four Kickstarter supporters. (For those who are keeping track, this was the last promise to be kept; that project is now officially, completely done.) The game went very well. I had four great players plus two family spectators. Everybody made it out of the dungeon alive, though one of the front-line fighters was not quite alive for a little while and his body got used as a doorstop (for very sharp, pointy values of “door.”) But he got better!

The way this group approached the dungeon was very different from the Origins group. Good playtesting . . . because this turns out to be a very good introduction for a campaign, and I’ll be using it to lead off the next volume of TFT adventures.

In other TFT news:

• Just in case you haven’t heard, Decks of Destiny is at print. Pre-orders are still open at BackerKit

Hexagram #2 was, just barely, available at Gen Con, and we are about to start shipping orders. For those who have not heard: shipping on a single small product is relatively costly, and we recommend that you wait until you want other things from Warehouse 23 and order them together.  Here's the pre-order page.

• Likewise, the Outdoor Encounters cards are in pre-order and will be shipping very soon.

• I have a first draft from David Pulver for a solo adventure.

• I have an excellent final draft from Howard Kistler for a short TFT adventure, and another good adventure proposal in hand . . . but I won’t mention the author’s name here because I have not yet written up my comments and sent them off.

• Guy McLimore and Greg Poehlein are working on the Cidri Bestiary (or whatever we end up calling it).

And – so big it should have had its own update, but timing is everything and this just happened . . .

The Fantasy Trip now has its own free mobile app: TFT Helper!

This is an unannounced (till now) bonus for all our generous TFT supporters. Created by Andrew Walters, it's a character builder. It's a digital character sheet. It's a reference for talents, spells, weapons, and armor. It's an arena to learn the combat system and try out characters. It's a solitaire adventure. It's a customizable die roller. It's free!

Use it to enhance your tabletop game. Use it to learn and teach The Fantasy Trip. Use it to have a quick battle anywhere!

Shiny dice!!!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 16, 2019 at 11:24:40 PM

The factory test shots (where we test the colors) of the new green and black pearlized dice (for the Decks of Destiny campaign) have arrived and look incredible! I'm personally a fan of the green pearlized dice, though I'll admit that the silver ink on the black pearlized dice turned out a lot more striking than I had expected.

If you're not yet backing the Decks of Destiny project, you're missing out on an overloaded box of tools and accessories for use with The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition. New cards, new megahex tiles, journals, dice . . . backer support has unlocked over 20 stretch goals and we still have stretch goals to reveal. Check out the project page today to see all of the new stuff and to join in and help unlock even more stretch goals! All we need is another 120 or so backers at the I Want All The Newness reward level to unlock a second playmat by Dyson Logos (that will then be automatically included in that reward level). We can totally break that stretch goal before the project comes to a close, right?

Contact Us For Assistance, A New Drop Table, and New Adventures
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 09, 2019 at 01:22:50 AM

If all has gone according to plan, everyone now has their rewards for this campaign. If there are any of you who do not have your rewards, please contact [email protected] and we'll do all we can to correct the issue. Also, if you received a damaged item, please email us; very few damages have been reported, and we want to be certain that we've taken care of any of you who still need support.

 Decks of Destiny Drop Table

One of the stretch goals for this campaign was the addition of the drop table in the inside lid of the Legacy Edition box. For the Decks of Destiny project -- now breaking through stretch goals on Kickstarter -- we have created a new drop table that can be used as a companion to the Legacy Edition drop table. The new table is also on the inside lid -- the Decks of Destiny box is the same width and height as the Legacy Edition box -- and this time it is used to stock the labyrinth with creatures, characters, and various treasures and encounters.

Join in Decks of Destiny today! There's a lot packed inside the new expansion, and we keep adding more as stretch goals are unlocked.

Work-in-progress. We may make changes before this goes to print.

Four Perilous Journeys: New Adventures for The Fantasy Trip

Douglas Cole's campaign for new and officially licensed adventures for The Fantasy Trip went live earlier this morning and brings four new gamemastered adventures to the game. The adventures are written by David Pulver, Christopher R. Rice, and J. Edward Tremlett, and all four are being offered in the campaign in PDF as well as in print. Check out the project today!

More to come!

We have more plans for The Fantasy Trip (solo adventures, yes, yes!) and, thanks to your support, will keep producing new supplements and adventures for as long as the demand gives us the resources to keep the projects flowing. Thank you, everyone, for giving us such a strong base with the success of the Legacy Edition. Now to keep the game expanding in new directions!
