Latest Updates from Our Project:

Canadian Packages Arriving, Hexagram Next Week, Decks of Destiny Blasting Through Stretch Goals
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 03, 2019 at 08:16:28 PM

Thank you to everyone who has let us know that your Canadian packages arrived safely! As always, if there are issues, please contact [email protected] for support and the team will help as best we can. And if you have not yet received your rewards, please give it one more week and then, if you still haven't got your box of goodies, please email [email protected] for assistance. Thank you for your patience as we work though all of the shipments.

Hexagram Arriving Next Week

The printed copies of the Hexagram zine are expected to reach our warehouse next week. We'll pack and ship as fast as we can, but it may take a few weeks for the Austin warehouse to work through all of the packages.

Decks of Destiny Now on Kickstarter

Over a dozen stretch goals down and one month until the project closes, the new Decks of Destiny campaign is doing great and is bringing a lot of new play value to The Fantasy Trip. Check out today's Daily Illuminator post, "How Does Decks Of Destiny Work In A Game?," and then check out the Kickstarter page to see all of the new stuff! We look forward to you joining us in making Decks of Destiny every bit as big and heavy as the Legacy Edition box!

Update On Canada, Please Check "Got it!," and Decks of Destiny Now On Kickstarter
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 30, 2019 at 08:42:25 PM

To our Canadian backers, we're still waiting to hear from our fulfillment partner on the status of the packages. The paperwork is completed on our end (we thing, the customs process can always bring new surprises) and it should be down to the act of shipping the packages out to you. We don't have a definitive answer as to the status of those Canadian shipments; Darryll is still checking on things.

Got it!

Now that many of you have your rewards, and as rewards reach those of you who are still waiting, please take a moment to go into the "Backed Projects" section of your Kickstarter account and check the box identified as "Got it!" This Kickstarter tool isn't used often, but checking the box as you receive rewards helps both you and us. It only takes a minute or two, so please take care of that today.

Decks of Destiny

The Decks of Destiny campaign for The Fantasy Trip -- bringing hundreds of new cards, sheets of new megahexes, and more to the game -- is now on Kickstarter and has met its goal. We're turning our attention to stretch goals now, and we hope that many of you will check out the new project and join us in making this as big as possible. And if you're a playmat fan, don't miss the new playmat that is included in the I Want All The Newness reward level!

Canadian Shipping Updates
about 5 years ago – Thu, Apr 25, 2019 at 01:05:50 AM

Canada

To our Canadian friends waiting on their The Fantasy Trip games to be delivered. Our partner does indeed have all of the games in hand, and are working on moving it into Canada after receiving the necessary documents from us. While I do not yet have an ETA for when you will have your games, I would expect them to be shipping out over the next 2 weeks. When I receive confirmation that boxes have started to ship, I will update this thread in the comments below.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

- Darryll

(I know some of our European friends have questions. When I know more, I'll let you know!)

UK/EU Delivery Update, TFT Helper, and a New Playmat
about 5 years ago – Wed, Apr 17, 2019 at 02:00:38 AM

First, the very good news. Darryll and the team report that the UK and EU rewards have landed at the UK fulfillment warehouse and will start to ship out in the next week or so. It cost us some cash, but we managed to expedite the pallets and the UK warehouse confirms that they have your rewards. We're very sorry that we were unable to meet the March estimate, but we hope that all of you will agree that the wait was worth it once you receive the game. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work at completing the deliveries.

TFT Helper

TFT Helper is an app for iPhones and Android phones. It lets you create and modify a Fantasy Trip character, save a library of characters, and run a hero through a solo adventure . . . and gain experience points!

Best of all . . . it's free!

As of April 15, this app is in the final stages of alpha testing. Andrew Walters and Steve have been working on this for months now, and we'll announce when it is ready for beta testing.

Postcard Entries

So far, we've seen ten entries. You can find details here; there's still time to submit your postcard labyrinth designs!

A New Playmat

Steve and Dyson Logos have created a new 24-inch by 24-inch playmat for the upcoming Decks of Destiny campaign -- coming to Kickstarter later this month (follow the Warehouse 23 account for email notification when the project launches) -- and I spent time over the weekend adding color. We've narrowed the color choices down to two options and now it is time to ask for your input: Do you prefer A or B? Let us know in the comments!

A Personal Note
about 5 years ago – Sat, Apr 13, 2019 at 03:03:02 AM

International update. Darryll and the crew are still working on all of the necessary paperwork. It's a complicated process involving multiple companies and, unfortunately, takes a lot of time to make the necessary arrangements so that we handle customs fees on our end. Each time we think we've reached the end of the tunnel, another train slams into us, but we are not giving up. Just as soon as we can verify that everything has shipped to our partners in Canada and the UK, we will let you know.

A Personal Note

David Blanchard of GPI has been instrumental in our projects for over a decade now. I'd estimate that 99% of our games flow through the GPI factories, and David is there every step of the way making the games move from our concept to your hands with as few issues and delays as we can manage. When it comes to The Fantasy Trip, David and I met twice at the GPI offices last year to plan the manufacturing (and packing; you can imagine how many tries it took us to Tetris the components together) . . . and then we traveled to China together in January of this year for final checks during assembly. David is, in retrospect, one of the best friends of my life. We've been all around the world together, shared an unbelievable number of stresses as well as successes, and I would trust him with my life.

All of this makes the news that David shared with me earlier this year difficult, but his remarkable strength and positive attitude erased all of my concerns when David told me that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. What is even more amazing is that it hasn't slowed David one bit; he's as on top of projects as ever . . . even as I write this, David and I are texting about an upcoming dice design and the physical samples of new dice bag designs. He just doesn't stop working, and it is for this reason that I know he's not going to let something like a disease slow him down.

As proof of his energy and willingness to work: David is participating in the New England Parkinson's Ride on September 7, 2019. At the moment, he is seeking donations for research into the disease and I have stepped in and made my donation. After I clicked the "donate" button, I realized that some of you may also wish to show your support for David after all of the long, stressful hours he put in making The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition as perfect as it could be.

If the little touches -- like the way in which the game was packed, the addition of the megahex storage box, and how the dice were assembled in such a way that we could easily offer them as extras -- makes you smile, please consider donating today.

Good luck, David. I'm sure everyone who backed The Fantasy Trip is thinking kind thoughts about you and wishing you success with the ride, upcoming projects (get ready, man, cause more are coming!), and in your life as you wake each day and do your best to make the new day better than the last. Thank you for everything you have done to help Steve Jackson Games . . . and thank you for being my friend.
