Unboxing the Legacy Edition, More Web Content, Final Days for Hexagram, and Kung Fu 2100

Bebo at Be Bold Games helped us out with promoting The Fantasy Trip last summer (see her interview with Steve, here), and now she has created and posted an unboxing video for the new Legacy Edition box. If you've been wanting another look inside this hefty box of TFT fun, Bebo's new video should hold you over until we can deliver the game to your home . . . nah! We know that no amount of pics and videos replace the joy of opening your own copy of the game, but at least we can keep sharing as we grow closer to the game landing in the warehouse.

Thanks to backer support of Adventures and Hexagram, we've posted more free content for TFT to the official thefantasytrip.game website. See the extras tag for a listing of all of the articles that have been unlocked in the three different TFT Kickstarter campaigns we've run so far.
Hexagram Coming to a Close
Our latest project for TFT, the Hexagram zine, has grown to 36 pages in length and is an amazing deal for the $3 PDF reward. Steve and the team continue to assemble the zine contents and everything is on schedule; we should have no problems delivering the rewards as estimated on the Kickstarter page.
Hexagram is part of our commitment to supporting the launch of The Fantasy Trip, and we hope to see many of you join us to keep this game line expanding throughout 2019.
Kung Fu 2100, Pocket Box Campaign Continues
One last bit of news for today: Our Pocket Box project now has over 1,000 backers, over $100,000 in support, and classic games like Kung Fu 2100, Raid on Iran, Car Wars, and Ogre are all available as near-exact replicas of their eighties Pocket Box forms. Please join us, because we've got more stretch goals to unlock and can only add more games and expansions with your support. Thanks!

Reprinting the Legacy Edition, FnordCon, and Pocket Box Games

With the Legacy Edition now somewhere on the Pacific (three containers!), we've been finalizing our distribution counts and starting to rough out a schedule for a possible second printing of the Legacy Edition box. We're not yet ready to pull the trigger on that reprint, but we are working through ideas on how best to handle replacing the first printing exclusives with new items to maintain the $119.95 MSRP.
We have our own ideas (and we're moving toward a decision), but the entire point of Kickstarter is to augment our own imaginations by asking: If it were your call, what items would you insert into the second printing of the Legacy Edition to replace those first printing exclusive components? No promises that your suggestion will affect the second printing, but it's possible that a new idea will spark a future game component. So. What have you got?
On April 6 and 7, in Austin, we're holding a convention where we'll be running The Fantasy Trip, Ogre, and Car Wars Sixth Edition, and have an open library of many of our games, both old and new. We hope to see many of you at the event and would also like to ask: If you're planning to attend, which games do you most want to play?
Our Kickstarter campaign to create near-exact replicas of classic Pocket Box games has been running for one week and has already unlocked several stretch goals, adding Undead, Necromancer, and Raid on Iran to the list of available titles. Additionally, the selection of eighties Car Wars expansions continues to grow; if you've been looking to replace some lost favorites, this Kickstarter campaign will help you create an instant collection of Steve Jackson Games titles from the eighties.

Random Labyrinth Drop Table and Hexagram #1, an Old-School RPG Zine for The Fantasy Trip

As you know, one of the social goals for the campaign unlocked the Random Labyrinth Drop Table, a tool printed on the inside lid of the Legacy Edition. If you take a look at the inside of the box, you'll find that we direct players to the official thefantasytrip.game website for an example of the drop table in play. Today, we've posted that sample to the site for everyone to enjoy.
Hexagram #1, an Old-School RPG Zine for The Fantasy Trip
In other news, Kickstarter has launched Zine Quest and we're happy to report that we're participating in the event. This is a new print zine (a PDF option is available) that comes to a close on February 13 . . . and we've already met the goal! Now it is time for those stretch goals, so please join in if you want more content for The Fantasy Trip. With your support, we'll add more pages to the zine and make it a better deal for everyone!

Legacy Edition Cases and Pocket Box Games!

Here at the office, we often get cool little things every few days. Finished game samples, though, are one of the highlights since it rewards all of us with a reminder that "We make games!" And with your support, we've made a game that we'll never forget: The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition sample cases have arrived!
We received two shipping cartons, each holding three copies of the game, and we'll be using these over the next month or so when promoting the game. One copy is going with Steve to his upcoming conventions -- MystiCon and Gary Con -- so be sure to ask for a look at the game if you're at either show.
One copy is going with me to New York Toy Fair in a few weeks; any NYC backers want to arrange a time/place to get a look at the game the weekend of February 16th and 17? If there's enough interest, we should be able to arrange a meet somewhere.
The others will go to reviewers so that we can start getting the word out, hopefully with the reviews landing in late March when retailers are taking preorders.

Now on Kickstarter, the Pocket Box campaign is live and working its way to the goal. With rewards ranging from a single game to several games and a handful of expansions, there's an option for everyone. Extra Pocket Folders and FnordCon

Great news, everyone! For those of you who regret not picking up extras of the Style A and Style B pocket folders (those of you like me; I regret not grabbing extras of these for our marketing team), the factory has confirmed that we can reprint a small quantity to offer during the upcoming BackerKit survey for The Fantasy Trip Adventures. Darryll is working away at the BackerKit survey and preorder page, and both should launch on/around the first week of February.
And yes, this means that if you missed the Kickstarter campaign, you'll have a chance to preorder The Fantasy Trip Adventures . . . as well as more pocket folders. (We know what you need: More office supplies!)
FnordCon
In other news, we've opened pre-registration for FnordCon, our Austin mini-con that's taking place the first weekend of April. You can find details here, and the pre-registration page here, and we hope to see you in Austin for a weekend of gaming. In addition to running The Fantasy Trip on our demo terrain, we'll also be teaching Car Wars Sixth Edition, playing Ogre, Munchkin Warhammer 40,000, and more!
